God's Glory, Mercy and The US Election

I don’t know what will happen with this election. It looks bleak. In my mind, there is no reason God should answer our prayers. We as Christians have gone after the world instead of serving Him. We have compromised with the culture. So, it will be no surprise if we continue to sink down into the mire as a nation. Eventually, this will happen anyway but I was hoping for a reprieve and perhaps even a Christian revival for a time before this nation goes into the dust.

But, God is a God of mercy and compassion else, we would all be on our way to hell. I’m reminded of the Exodus and how the people of Israel were still a despicable people when Moses led them out of Egypt. From a human standpoint, there was no hope for them. The Egyptians were behind them and the sea was before them with nowhere to go. I think if God is going to save this nation and His people, it has to be a situation where there is no hope humanly speaking or else God will not get the glory He deserves. Moses told the people, “Fear not stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will work for you today”. Wow! Read the passage in Exodus below… and may God have mercy on us!
