"The hard and often brutal facts of life that we see everyday are evidence of universal sin. By the way, that fact alone provides a good basis from which a Christian can argue the total inability of humanity to solve its own problems. Its legitimate to ask any humanist: So, how much progress have we made in 6000 years of so called civilization? Are we more compassionate? Is human nature any better? Are we less selfish, less greedy? Have we finally given up war? No, we've just found more sophisticated ways of killing more people. Are we morally superior to our ancestors? I don't think so. See, the honest answer in each case is no, and because it is, there is universal suffering. If you're stuck for words in trying to witness, this is a good place to start." -Pastor Bridge
